Anecta sells Sweden’s largest hatchery, Swedfarm, to investment company Storskogen
Anecta has advised Svensk Matfågel AB in the sale of Swedfarm, Sweden’s biggest business for breeding, hatching and rearing laying hens. The company was started in 1943 and currently holds a strong position on the Swedish market. Swedfarm’s business volume in 2015 totalled SEK 284 million with an operating margin before depreciation of around 20%.
In order to answer a growing demand on the Swedish market and ensure a financially stable platform for further growth, Swedfarm was looking for a new ownership structure and hired Anecta as an advisor in the transaction process. Ultimately, the new owner of the business became investment company Storskogen that currently consists of 13 companies with a combined turnover of around SEK 1.2 billion. The previous owners of Swedfarm will continue to be operationally involved in the business in order to pursue the company’s future growth strategy.
