Swedish DMC acquires the Finnish TV production company Suora Broadcast
DMC Production, backed by one of Sweden’s largest family-owned companies Stena, acquired 100% of the shares in finish Suora Broadcast Oy.
Suora Broadcast was founded by Johanna and Juha Koskela and is today one of the largest technical sport TV production companies in Finland. The company is a production house specialised in demanding live productions and a market leader in premium sports productions with multicamera solutions.
Corporate transactions are demanding processes and Translink really knows how to manage them. We especially thank the team for their entrepreneurial attitude, which as Northern Finns we know how to appreciate. At no point did the process go off the rails, even though due diligence in the media industry is complicated. There was interest in our company from all over the world and Translink’s process led to an excellent result with Stena, a Swedish family company that understands business. Our intention is to go all the way with DMC in conquering the sports broadcasting market in Northern Europe.
– Juha and Johanna Koskela, Founder and CEO & Co-Founder of Suora Broadcast, respectively
This transaction means that one of Finland’s largest and most reputable production companies in live sports is incorporated into DMC’s growth journey. The acquisition strengthens DMC’s position as a market-leading company in centralised TV production in the Nordics. Through the acquisition, DMC now has operations in Stockholm, Oslo, Helsinki and Copenhagen, and hence full Nordic coverage.
Suora is at the forefront of centralised production in Finland, which is completely in line with DMC’s philosophy. It is a family-owned company with good values, which provides a stable and long-term platform to continue growing from.
– Daniel Franck, Founder of DMC
